![]() So if you want a P-90 you have some good, cheap options. I've played a bunch- I actually prefer the Hi-Lo Trons to the Filtertrons, if that means anything. I'm not as a familiar with the Gretsch line. I was after a '50s T-100D (which has the full body) but couldn't find one, and then my ES-175D came along at a good price, so I got that instead. After that they had little single coils on the lower end models, and 'buckers on the higher end ones. The '50s models had Franz pickups, which are similar to P-90s, maybe not as raunchy when pushed. The Guilds are great, underrated guitars. After that you have the ES-225 (which was cutaway) which get pricey and they go up from there. They're also mostly single pickup models. ![]() A '50s or '60s ES-150 is cool and fairly cheap (under $1000), but I don't think they made 'em in cutaways either. The ES-120s are odd, I think they have weird pickguard mounted pickups, and the pickups are little melody maker types. There are ES-125s out there that are cutaway and full body depth, but they're kind of rare. Looks like you're thinking mostly vintages guitars, right? If you want a P-90 any of the lower end Gibsons will do, but if you also need a cutaway that will narrow it down.
